I found you quite by accident when you came up in my Google daily search results for the words Cyprus and stamps, which led me to a particular question that I could provide information on.

So basically, here I am

I'm originally from UK but moved with my husband to the island of Cyprus on a permanent basis in March 2004. My other half used to collect stamps when he was young but his collection was ruined in a flood at the family home many years ago.

After moving here he started to collect stamps from Cyprus and also learned a lot of the history of our new home country. We are a divided island with the North still under illegal occupation after the Turkish invasion of 1974. We live in the Republic of Cyprus (the South) on the outskirts of Limassol.

Since then and after collecting many duplicate Cyprus stamps we started to sell them on ebay and in 2008 opened our own website dedicated to the stamps of Cyprus including North Cyprus stamps (or Turkish Cypriot stamps). We've met many friends and collectors both in and outside of Cyprus and they have become firm friends.

I hope we can learn more from you all and share our own knowledge of this specialist field.

Cheers
Michele

Welcome Michele,

This is a great place to converse and learn about stamps. I found the forum the same way you did, googeling (sp?) a stamp I had problems identifying.

Dave.

Hi Michele,

Welcome to the group! I'm glad you found us.

Interesting story about Cyprus. There are so many interesting places in the world. One thing I like about stamp collecting is that it opens up a lot of unknown territory for me.

Cheers!

Dave N.
