Hi all,
My pick of the month for July is now on our website and the attached image is of one of the cards featured.

It has a stamp on the view side of the card as well as on the address side.
You can read more about it and see a few more cards by going to our website at
-

and clicking on the Pick of the Month section or by going directly to
-/pickrjul.html

Eunice has picked the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia for July and there is plenty more philatelic content on our site too.
-/pickejul.html
Regards to all
Ron.

I remember one of my favourite 1959 TV shows, The Flying Doctor" starring Richard Denning as Dr. Greg Graham.

As this video shows, it certainly is a great service

Yeah, yeah its not a stamp-related post; but, its related to a stamp-related post and that counts.

Rod
Is the flying doctor comes with the flying nurse?
Oh yeah! Then it's a good reason to fall off your pushbike.

Good one Daniel don't forget the flying Nun.

KG5, surprised me too,
I am only 250Km from the city,
I am not sure how close the RFDS is used,
but certainly not only the "outback".

Nice Youtube clip XNBer!

Rod thanks for those images. They look very effective don't they?

Is your garden large enough for the Doc to land?

Cheers from Sunny Queensland where we are currently taking the ice off the bird baths to let the birds get a drink. Then the daft little beggars dive in for a bath, frozen lorikeets that can hardly flyMinus temperature again last night.

Ron and Eunice.

really minus temps? I'm sweating my bum off here in Pennsylvania and wishing for a nice cool rain storm to cool things down a bit. I bet it was high in the 90's today!

Yes, if he parachutes in.

Our last 5days 5.2 degrees, 1.9, 5.8, 6.5 7.0,
lowest was 1 degree June 5th
Ice on the windshield that morning.

Trouble is, our ceiling is 4 metres, and hot air disappears upwards.

No worries, forget the Doc, I saved 3 lives this month
( I donated blood) :)

Strange for me to read your post about Australia climate. I know it's the cold season in southern hemisphere but never thought of freeze in Australia. I guess kangaroo don't get cold because they have fur and they can always jump and jump to keep warm. Here in Quebec winter is not always cold. Sometime it rain in January but during the night the temperature drop drastically and there is freeze everywhere. The city worker operate that little "chenille" tractor with a trailer that spread sand and small gravel on sidewalks. It help but still many are injured falling on the ice. My mother even use some removable spike to put on her boot. Breaking a leg for old folks can be dramatic. Myself I deliver mail on bicycle for 2 years (even in winter) in Montreal when I was younger. I used then my bicycle on snow and ice. All that to conclude I would suffer more your hot season than the cold one.

Yes, you may suffer in the heat Timbres667,
42 degrees you just stay indoors and relax
but really, Western Australia has the weather on a plate
it is , most times beautiful,
Last night 5 degrees but today 18 degrees, I felt like
doing a 100km bike ride.
Really hot weather is not that often, usually around 35 > 38 degrees

Summer I just love working on my stamps, usually lounging
around in my swimming costume. (now there's a sight!)
