Ever have this happen? I was going through a packet of Scott #640 stamps and to my surprise I found what amounts to a "mini-collection" of oval handstamp cancels, so I thought I'd share them. I found something I didn't even know I had!
Boston, MA: I assume the center part of the cancel reads Dor. "S." (for Station) or "B." (for Branch) ... anyone know for sure?
Chicago, IL: The center reads 1420. Anyone know what that number means? It seems quite high for a "Station" number:
