Has anyone taken notice of the new USPS web site? I don't know if it's me or if it just takes some getting used to, but the web site:

1. Requires more keystrokes. Cannot enter a city/state name to seek out a ZIP Code, but must use drop down menus to select state.

2. Requires users to go to secondary menus to get news bulletins, etc., from the USPS.

3. All previously saved links to the old USPS web site are dead and you have to go through and re-select them in the new format. This means that web page links, links to things such as the Postal Bulletins, Zip Code lookups, rate information, etc., have all changed.

All of the material is still there (I think) it's just that it is now all in different places on their web page.

Has anyone considered what the USPS had to spend in changing their website so dramatically in the midst of their financial crisis? Seems to me they could have done without that modification and saved themselves some money in the process.

In a parallel topic. I used to order stamps by mail from usps philatelic sales. They had stamps from last several years for purchase. Does that sales unit still exist?

Most definitely! Here's the link:

Actually, I prefer to order off of their USA Philatelic Catalog rather than online, as there are several stamp formats, etc., mentioned in the catalog that are not readily listed online. Here's the link for the latest USA Philatelic, which you can download in PDF format for future reference should you so desire:

I mentioned this in another thread, but I'll mention it here also. On Page 32 of USA Philatelic they have a listing for "last chance" items set to go off sale on 09/30/2011. Included is the 80-cent Mount McKinley airmail stamp said to be reprinted 04/2003. That variety (reprinted 04/2003) is not (yet) a catalog listed variety as far as I can tell, and for anyone attempting to collect all varieties of that series, it may be a stamp worth picking up.
