I've been strangled for a few days with these stamps, what are they?
J-32,34,or J-39,41,or J-46,48. are there any other features that separates them?Besides the color, because after looking for 55 minutes they seemed all the same to me

The double line watermark should be easily observed when placed face down in watermark fluid in a black tray; the single line watermark can sometimes be a problem.

Plate #268 means the 2c is a J-39 (Source: Durland Standard Plate Number Catalog). Unfortunately, you're going to have to determine if the stamp is watermarked or not to identify the 5c.

This link might help you with the watermark issue: http://www.1847usa.com/Watermarks.htm

Good luck!

Steve

Glad to have been able to help.

Those are really nice scans by the way. I think the lattice in the design is amazing. It is too bad most modern issues no longer share the same quality of workmanship.

These images are actually taken with camera as I don't have a scanner. And yes, nowadays we seem to lack the workmanship of any kind .It looks like "quantity" took over the "quality".
