Two River Rover Mk.4 hovercraft were sent to PNG in 1993 by British charity HoverAid. This was the 4th expedition organised by Mike Cole to set up a Hovering Doctor service in remote parts of the Third World. The service was based at the General Hospital, Balimo - on the Fly River Delta. The HoverAid team were with the craft from 1 March to 14 May 1993, proving the craft were ideally suited to the terrain and training local crews to operate and maintain the craft when the team returned to the UK
