Hi Everyone, I have this Bhutan "Snowman" stamp. I am wondering if it is Sasquash. Then I got thinking, is Sasquash only in the USA? Do other country know who Sasquash is? If this is not Sasquash on the stamp, then it is a very hairy snowman, lolol... I like hairy!

I think the word you're looking for is Sasqua tch. Sasquash is probably some sort of mutated summer vegetable Sasquatch is also known as Bigfoot. Your stamp may be the Yeti (aka Abominable Snowman) --- Bigfoot's Himalayan cousin. KirkS edit/add -- Yes, Bigfoot is generally considered native to North America. |

I believe in the Himalayas the abominable snowman is called a Yeti. Sasquatch is the fellow roaming the woods of the US and Canadian west coast. This is part of a series issued in 1966 with different images of Abominable. Many countries have their own versions of 'wild men'. Make a nice topical collection. |

SueStamps, hello and how are you. Your posted stamp image of 'Snowman' looks remarkably similar to what's known here in Australia by collectors and dealers as 'The Sherrif'. (avatar) |

To be honest Tony, I have always marvelled at the utter lack of artistic merit in that portrait. I would still collect the stamp though. |

Talking about artistic merit, how about this Sasquatch from Central Lithuania? |
