Why are the Looney Tunes imperforates worth so much more than the regular sheets? The 2009 catalogue value for the That's All Folks sheet is $7.00. The imperforate value is $60.00. Mine arrived in the mail through the Standing Order Subscription program from the USPS way back in 2001.
Is there any history behind these stamps and why the two different varieties were made?
This link may help to partially explain it ... very low production (less than 130,000 ... and no local post office availability as it was only available from SFS):
Unless a person just wildly throws money at it, try to imagine how difficult (and costly) it will be for the average collector to acquire the five cross-gutter blocks from these imperf press sheets!
The only thing that saved my *ss with these sheets was that I was signed up for the Standing Order Subscription Program and they sent me 2 of each sheet as part of my regular subscription. I think I am going to put a full set up for auction on SCF.
