I had this item to investigate for a while and I got hold of a Maury catalogue recently which doesn't list this error or variety.

What happened to this one? The regular issue is on the right.

Hi Anthony,

They both look pretty grotty to me. The title at the top should be brown but has faded or become discoloured on the one on the right. The one on the left seems to be saturated at the top right with some oily substance and the edge of this has changed the appearance of the clouds.

OK, I had to look it up in Maury!

I believe you have here Maury 1759 type II on the left and type I on the right.
