Baldy, I wish I could help you..i collect Argentina but the only thing I have to go by is the basic scott catalog...its very difficult for me to find specialized books on Argentine stamps in English or an English speaking Argentine study group to communicate with !

It is acceptable to pull the staple when it is in this condition to prevent further damage to the stamps. You might want to think about that.

I agree with @1775mac: Carefully pull the staple, and keep it in a #1 glassine. Then mount the covers, the panes, and the glassine on the album page -- a side benefit is that it makes for much more attractive presentation when "exploded".

Good luck in your research!

I looked at the APS affiliates and I found:
=========================================================
Latin American Philatelic Society (APS# AF0104)
Journal: Latin American Post: quarterly.
Dues: U.S./Canada $15; others $17.50.
Services: Currently undergoing reorganization.
Purpose: To study Latin American philately and to disburse information.
Contact Person: Dr. Jules Beck, 2377 Juneway Terr. , Fayetteville , AR 72703-2916
E-mail: jkbeck@uark.edu
=========================================================

and for books I checked the APRL and the link for Argentina is:

http://www.stamps.org/InmagicGenie/...RY&Type=opac

If you are not an APS or APRL member you can borrow from the APRL through your local library (library must have interlibrary loan service).

I don't speak Spanish myself. However, I used to be fluent in French and it helps in reading Spanish. Fortunately, my wife is Colombian and is my in-house translator.

I've looked for things before and totally forgot APRL.

I was told that was auctioned in the U.S., a cover of this book, the year they gave me pasado.Pero more information.
Thanks again, the only forum that answered my request, in my country, just want to buy it.

Jerry, yes..APS 070059 kind of a low number eh ? since 1973..life member..i think dues were only 8 dollars a year back then..but its only since retirement that I have been able to take real advantage of my membership...attending many of the APS shows East of the Mississipi and visiting the sales division in State College and Bellefonte..very worthwhile trips !!

Hi philb

I believe that there is an APS show here in Atlanta in January. I know it is a long ways off but maybe we can get together at that show.

I had a friend in New York that was a member since the 60's and I think his number was lower than yours. In fact he was the one that sponsered me.

Am I understanding correctly that the $325 price realized was for the booklet without stamps? If so, the original image showing the booklet with stamps would surely be worth more, possibly a great deal more.

Yes, only one of the covers.
My question is the price that it would be, as several stakeholders offered good dollars, but my question is if I should auction it on the outside, where base.Nadie want to risk that, just tell me that it would be a few thousand dollars, but that can be 1000 as 10000 or more, and one can not put a base set.
Would welcome more information and advice, of course many thanks.

Baldy, have you tried a reliable auction house ? They would either offer to purchase it from you and auction it or auction it for you..the Argentina specialized collectors will determine the value !
