This appears to be a type A49 in the Scott catalog, but I cannot find the use for the overprint. Does anyone have a catalog number on this guy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance - Jeff
From memory it's a Soviet Russian issue for us in the Far East (DV = Dalni Vostochnaya) after Russia incorporated the territory of the Far Eastern Republic (DVR). The issue was necessary because the local currency was different. This one has face value of 5 kopecks gold
Jeff, your stamp is Far Eastern Republic #68 of 1923 (Scott Catalog), known a a Vladivostok issue. 2009 value 40c mint, 75c used. There were three other overprinted values.
