Looking on ebay in the US section under Errors, Freaks and Oddities I found this 1901 US advertised as 'Train in reverse!'

http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-295-1901...em27bca1177e

REALLY? Come on! Are there really buyers that gullible out there that think a simple and minor misalignment of plates, poor registration is the next inverted jenny (also evoked on the site)
Does the seller come from the PT Barnum school of economics or is he/she just pulling our collective legs.
Right up there with RARE! or NEVER SEEN!
Geesh!

rant over

If I had to choose, I'd choose "ignorance" because the common description for this particular mis-registration is "slow train." Perhaps "train in reverse" is also used, and I've just not heard it.

If you liked this listing, then you'll love the following:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/295-SLOW-TR...370105245768

currently listed by Mr. L a n g s. I can save a clickthrough for our friends on dialup and relay that it is a buy-it-now for $349, albeit slightly slower, and no straightedge. (And I'm just pointing out this listing, not commenting on what a fair price might be, because I have no idea what the market bears.)

Mmmm! I am beginning to get an idea about this Mr.Langs.

He seems very unpopular at SCF just now.
