I got one old envelope with a couple of dozens old US revenues. I don't know anything about them, so, I will be thankful if somebody can take just a short overlook, and tell does any of them could be worth of further research from my side. Also, I have another question - are the cut squares (of the postal stationary - envelopes and cards), also collectible in some way? I also got an little box of the old US cut squares, but I am just sure are they lost entire value after the were cut from the stationary?

Unfortunately all these revenue stamps look to be common types. Cut squares are collectible and their values are listed in Scott's catalogue. |

t360, thank you very much for reply. I also supposed that all these are commons, but it is always better to check with someone who is more introduced with the matter. |

I beg to differ! At least one was overlooked! 1st scan bottom right corner is R672 $2.75 Documentary. Without looking it up that has to be $60.00 at least! Well centerd and no major visible defects(2 slightly shorf perf.'s) a nice little find! |

It's probably a good idea, never to assume in philately, the top price at the moment for an australian "cut square" is $40 $100 Cut squares are collectable, and have value, as is just about everything else in collecting :) |

thank you very much, revstampman and revenuecollector! also, I noticed that previous owner of these revenues took a special care on the 1st scan top right stamp. I am not sure is that because the perfin (only partial? that shape doesn't give any sense) or that dots could be an error in the perforation process?
rod, thanks, it seems they really have... I will need take a more care on this collection I have. |

1st scan top right corner is R152a if on "Silk Paper", R152b if on Watermarked paper. The additional holes are refered to as "Freak Perf.'s". Freak perf.'s like this will not add much to the value. You might get $1.00 for it on a good day. |

Nice cancel on the 25 certificate. Let me know if you'd be interested in trading it... I could probably fill a bunch of holes in your revenue collection for you. |

Thank you for your reply! I usually don't prefer to split-up the old collections... maybe if I find some very special piece, but usually I prefer to let the album in condition in which I get it. |
