from me
kinda' new to Stamp Collecting,
sold my 1st stamp album in 1974 to buy my 1st car.
bought abunch of used stamps at an auction @20 years ago but they just sat in my basement utill this year.
I've been buying alot of "plate blocks" and other stuff from the USPS since January.
last month the wife bought me the Heirloom albums and some other stuff from Mystic Stamp Co and I've been buying "mint" state stamps only from them, starting wth the 1939's and working back to the 1929's. so far, everything seems "ok" wth Mystic.....

got a few questions, which I'll post up later in the corect forums

Mystic is a very reputable, if somewhat pricey, company. Get you fifty posts and let us know what you need and I am sure someone has one for a great price!

yeah, I know Mystic can be $$$ but if it's one thing I've learned in life, it's "you get what you pay for" and I believe there grading system tobe tops in the bizz and the "Profit Shares" you get from the purchase, makes-up for some of the cost of the stamps....
I use my "Profit Shares" to buy the Mystic Mounts, which I love btw....and NO, I Do Not work for them, Im in the Automotive business.

dont meen to come-off like a schmuck, I respect ALL opinions on where and who to buy stamps from and I sure there are great deals to be had from the members on here, hell, thats why I joined, just hope they take "plastic"

Mystic does a lot to support the hobby, and you won't find a soul to say that there is anything wrong with them.

Being cheap, myself, I have not purchased any stamps from them as yet. Also, much of my interest is in worldwide stamps, which Mystic doesn't focus on much.

We look forward to seeing pictures of your stamps (you will find us showing off pretty much all the time).

97 percent of my generation got their start through approval companies that used to advertise in the back of Popular Mechanics and such ..when I was in the service they were the only options I had for a while...THEN I JOINNED A STAMP CLUB and a whole different world of generous people and awesome stamps opened up to me...but the approval companies still seem to pay their rent !!

Between ebay, bidstart, and most definitely this forum, much is available for a pretty reasonable cost. when you hit 50 posts, there are some GREAT deals available here. And I for one, would much rather see stamps auctioned here (rather than ebay) going to people you know will really appreciate and take care of the purchases. And I would rather see the money go to people who are "friends" than just some random ebay vendor.
