I could be wrong, but it seems to me the color spots (on the left stamps) are due to damage, possibly while the stamps were being soaked off paper. Have you checked the back of the stamps to see if there is any damage showing through (i.e. thins, color bleed, etc.)? Maybe exposure to excessive light or certain chemicals could have caused the color spotting, too.
If all is okay, they could possibly be classified as "freaks" due to the color spotting, but I doubt they would command much (if any) premium value over normal used stamps. Interesting to keep as a conversation piece, though.
No bleeds, or damage. I got these from a dealer who had just bought a parcel of stamps and who did not have time to sort them and said I could sort through and take anything I wanted for 10c each. So long as I sorted them into themes which I have done. I am going to keep about 200 mostly 1900 to 1920"s, so I thought it was a good offer. I will take the others back. But back to the theme the stamps are perfect in every way except for the blemishes. Regards Horamakhet Horamakhet.
