Man that's just stellar! I been working for 3 years now with Levon Helm's help (Drummer/vocalist from The Band) putting together the Watkins Glen Summer Jam 1973 performances from The Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead & The Band. So this is just right up my alley! I'll have to tell him on the next trip to New York to the midnight Rambles! Very cool ~Jay

Wow! that's rarified atmosphere :)

Levon Helm, Garth Hudson
I'm no great student of rock history,
I just like what I like,
but Levon Helm is up there with percussion that moves me
along with Don Brewer from Grand Funk and Ringo Starr.

I think I read once that Eric Clapton very much desired
to be a member of The Band.
I am surprised that music is not represented in stamps
as much as it makes such imprints in our lives.

Nice seeing some of the rock n roll groups coming out on stamps. That is one of my favorite songs and also one of my favorite places.

Cripple Creek, Colorado Elevation 9,494 feet. Gold discovered in 1874 grew to a population of 35,000 by 1895.

Hey Rod

I think that is the 3rd set of music legends that Canada has put out.

I'll have to find something else to send you so that I can send you some more. Did I have all 4 of that set on the envelope.

Dianne

Levon Helm's current stuff is outstanding! If I can do anything with this much energy when I'm 70 I'll be thrilled.

Completely ignored Rod's note about not being familiar with the other artists commemorated on those stamps. YouTube and Wikipedia will bring up examples, of course, but one which should not be missed is this classic National Film Board short film - The Log Driver's Waltz is one of the most popular films on the NFB site, and it features music by the McGarrigle Sisters.
