I contacted Linns AKA "Amos Press" wanting to know if they had up to date listings of local stamp clubs. This is what I got back.

Art,

Unfortunately, we do not offer a listing of local stamp clubs with in Linn's Stamp News.

Thank you,

I haven't subscribed to Linns in many years and I recall seeing a list of clubs in Linns but, is this something they dropped or am I mistaken completely?

Even if Linn's offered such a service to clubs wanting to advertise, I doubt there would be many takers. A Google search would likely be more accurate!

As an example, I searched "Oregon stamp club meeting" and came up with a website I have never seen before ...

http://www.stampparaphernalia.com/s...alia_365.htm

I love the Internet!

Edit:

Interestingly, I went back to my websearch and found a link to Linn's. Strange that a customer rep has no knowledge of this ...

I live in NW Georgia.

I wonder, is it a case of Customer Service NOT knowing what they even have?

As in Atlanta? Or as in Chattanooga?

Seriously, see if this helps:

APS also has a listing of local clubs:

Art, going back to the 1980s when Linns had 91,000 subscribers I do not remember the list...its a shame they dropped the LINNS Trends where they used to show the values of stamps mint and used !!

Phil,

I used those trends a lot! They were the best thing about Linn's IMHO. I dropped the subscription soon after they dropped that feature. Actually, I wrote them a letter asking to put them back in and they did one more and that was that. Though, I'm sure it wasn't because of my letter. If memory serves me correctly, for U.S. they had Regular, Transportation Coils and Revenues. I still have those saved away someplace.

Just as an FYI, both the Linn's site and the stampparaphernalia.com site had the wrong info for the Janesville, Wisconsin stamp club. I'll see about contacting them to get it changed.

I wonder how many other ones need to be updated?

Details for most Australian stamp clubs can be found on the Australian Philatelic Federation's website, listed under each state:

You are correct. Years ago Linn's did have a fairly large listing of local stamp clubs. I think it was more or less discontinued in the late 90's
