I wonder if the stuff they use for new self-adhesive paper removal would work, leaving the gum in place.

Don't know. Try it and report back. Remember the glue on the back is water soluble. The stuff you immerse the stamp in needs to be very quick drying.

I havent tried it but maybe a prevail sprayer its a disposalbe aerosol type sprayer that uses propane as a propelent gets dam cold on the hands I use them all the time in my field of work
