Hi,
I find this stamp incredibly interesting, but I don't know anything about it. Can anyone help?

Welcome to Stamp Community Forum, New to Stamps!

The 500y Japanese stamp depicts Bazara Taisho, one of the 12 divine generals of Yakushi Buddha.

It was issued in 1974, and is a relatively common stamp -- the used stamp is listed at minimum catalog value. But, as you noted, it's an eye-catcher!

It was the first Japanese stamp I ever saw. I suspect it is that way for most collectors as it is quite common.

It's pretty scary -- and believe it or not, it has been posted here before. I don't collect Japan, but it made quite and impression on me, so I remembered it.

It took me a while to find it, but I did -- posted by Rod2222 in one of the "Ugliest Stamp" threads.

Hi! New to Stamps and a big
You got me thinking. It is a mean looking stamp.

Thanks KirkS, I could not remember where that stamp was posted.

Always Happy Stamping. KGV

Maybe a common stamp but what a great example of misregistration or is that from photo gitters?

Based on the blurred teeth(perforations), I would say Oprah walked by during the picture taking.
