Bidding against a friend....

If I'm after a stamp, on the chase so to speak, for any reason, I don't care who the other bidder is, friend or not, I'm after it.

However, I usually stop bidding when it approaches 50% cv. Yes, I'm a cheap SOB. So, if the person I'm bidding against can't go as high as I do, that's good for me.

BTW, how do you know its a friend your bidding against on ebay?
