I realize that scanners can somewhat skew the actual color image of a stamp, but I submit these two for clarification.

While the issue had a total of 10 color varieties, the only one that these two issues could be are the "Prussian Blue with Gold Eagle" variety as in Scott #3798, yet there is a distinct color difference in the so-called "Prussian Blue" as the stamp on the left has a definite "sea green" look about it whereas the stamp on the right is what I believe to be the correct color:

Although there is a "Green with Gold Eagle" variety as in Scott #3796, that is a deep green that in no way should be confused with the examples in the above scan.

Therefore, I believe the above scan to be a variation of the Prussian Blue Scott #3798. Does anyone know if this color variation is unusual or common in this stamp series?

I'm confused. According to the specifications recited below, this issue of stamps was only produced by one printer, Sennett Security Products (SSP) and there were seven (7) specifically detailed colors used in the printing process, which makes me wonder how the posted color variation could have occurred. Perhaps an unintended mixture of those colors (as in the yellow (PMS 135) may have contaminated the blue (PMS 7461) ink?
