According to the above link, even the catalog has confused this, as they claim:

Did alittle research found that the Winchester PO was establised in 1802 until 1859.
Winchester Centre or Center was established in 1826-present. Both locations were within the township of Winchester within Litchfield Co.
There were silent precancels for both PO's, both had a pen cancel as an 'X' from corner to corner, both used on Scott #1 in 1847.
In 1859 Winchester PO became the Winsted PO 1859-present.
