Does it occur to some of the members here that, by indulging in this sort of petty abuse, they're committing the very same sin they accuse Him Who Must Not Be Named of?

Very fair comment tonymacg!

This thread was not aimed at any one person, that is for sure.

I have tried to be humorous in a general sense and it looks like I have failed and caused confusion.

It looks like the word bunny and shark are a no no!

I apologise to any stamp seller that has been called a shark because of this thread.

But you must admit the shark has a lovely set of teeth.

and let us also state that no bunnies or sharks were harmed in the making of this thread.

Yes, there are some sharks out there in stamp dealer land. We've probably all met a few. But to be fair, there are also very kind and generous dealers, too. It was a dealer I came across as a schoolboy collector who taught me all the basics of stamps, and all in return for my 20 cents worth of purchases a visit.

I have no clue what this thread is about,
but I do know that since reading it,
"Mack the Knife" has been going through my head.

"Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white"

I have purchased many stamp items from the so called "Shark", being my main collecting interest is pre-decimal Australia. I have also received much help in identifying stamps from this so called "Shark" that I did not buy from him. I also have received well over $100.00 in freebies from this so called "Shark". Many people hate certain Americans, so whats new. I guess if we have a bad experience with a stamp dealer he or she is a "Shark". Oh well, to each his own.
