Hi to all

This is my first attempt at constructing an album page.
I am still in the experimental stage.
So far so good.

When I need to experiment with the more technical details I will get my son to help me, as being 13 he is a real wizz kid with photoshop as they use it everyday at school
Regards
Horamakhet

Nice effort! In the past, someone on this forum had posted some intricately detailed album pages that were done using Photoshop (I believe) that included maps and flags and coats of arms, and written descriptions of the country or of the stamp issue, etc., which really customized the page.

Personally, I don't have Photoshop, so I've found the next best thing is to use Excel. I know some would prefer Word, but Excel works great for me, as I can easily re-size the "cells" to a grid format as in your Photoshop page and customize the borders for placement of the stamps and insertion of any graphics I may desire to highlight the page. Not as user-friendly as Photoshop, I don't expect, but it works for me (and it works within my budget, too.)

I use something like this as a "template", then depending on what I want (i.e. size of stamp border) I can cut and paste the different size borders in any format needed and then add text and graphics, too, if desired.

That looks great. Word of advice though, Photoshop isn't really the best software to use for page layout. If you are using the Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign would be better (that's actually what I use) that way you can create templates and do a lot more with type and rules. And you can create master pages so that common elements stay still and youa can add or subtract other elements at will. Photoshop is really just a image manipulation software.
Just a thought.

Hi wt1 and jamesw

I never thought of Excel that is a great idea, and jamesw thanks for the advice on indesign.
I shall try both.

Is that pre-quadrilled type paper or did you do that? My wife is great at excel PowerPoint (I think it's called) and have been wondering if that could be used effectively? I may just do the mystic album though and save the headache...lol

I started my pages with PowerPoint, but switched to Publisher. It can be done with PowerPoint, but PowerPoint's not really designed for this type of product, and it shows at times.

Hi Horamkhet
Sorry I should have been more specific. Photoshop is part of the CreativeSuites package of design software, which also includes the programs Illustrator and InDesign. InDesign is a page layout software, and would be much more suitable for your purpose. They are separate software programs.
