Bidstart and Delcampe and Wensy and Stamps2go and many others probably. I don't think they would exist if ebay was not the way it is.

the withholding for 21 days depends on your feedback score and any issues that have arisen. When ebay first started this I got an email saying they would withhold for 21 days. About 2 months later I got an email saying that I could now get the money instantly.

Anyone signing up and listing would be put off by this immediately.
And not only put off...it is insulting.

I'll wait for months for my reply from ebay, and this makes it even worse.

It stinks whichever way you look at it. It's like seperation and racism.
Next thing is they'll be asking for photos so the so-called bosses can detect what we are like from our pictures.

We are listing 150 to 200 lots per week. So most of the issues mentioned here do not hurt us.
Except that buyers can "Black Mail" us simply because the seller has no say it, no say in it at all!

People will always vote with their feet. Because your not happy ebay is getting the message that people are moving on. The surveys that ebay .com are sending us are about all you people moving on and how can they stop this happening.

We are going to hit some mile stones on ebay this week and I will say more else where if and when the time comes.

It seems to me that ebay is not much interested in us, the people that just want to dispose the extra things we don't need for some EUR.... they just want to transform ebay in something Amazon like but with extra costs and worst services. At least from Amazon I know what I receive and when I receive.
And the Paypal policy drives me crazy.... I'm so glad that for ebay.de and ebay.eu paypal it's not obligatory. And how it can be? In Europe we are working with bank transfer, SEPA is free of charge, why to use Paypal? They say it's for our safety... I've heard so many stories that I'm not sure for which safety it is.

Since ebay owns Paypal, it's only for ebay's financial safety, not anyone else's. I still use ebay when needed due to the larger market, but it's policies are rather draconian especially towards smaller sellers. Eventually, ebay will become it's own worst enemy and completely drive away the sellers. Things that will be the final straw for me: if they ever get rid of html/mandatory use of ebay's horrible picture service, hold payments on us older sellers(I need that to help pay for postage), mandatory escrow service (little far fetched, but I can't put it past them) or just the ever escalating fees. Delcampe has been much nicer to use - more affordable, more flexible and more freedom. I just hope the alternatives keep growing. of course, from what I've seen on here, SCF is very nice and friendly - much like the when the Stamp Trader's List was in full swing.
