Hi

So im going through the collection and find this.





Scott ('09) says $22.50. How does the imperf. (i think thats right) and the cancel affect the value of this stamp?

jmaplewood, first welcome to SCF. There are 4 things that I see that effect the value. First, the cancel is heavy and will decrease value. Second, the centering is graded fine with the perfs on the left cutting into the design. Third is a pulled perf on the bottom. Fourth is the perfin which decreases value to everyone except perfin collectors.
The amount that each of these effects the value varies, on rarer stamps they would not decrease the value as much as on more common stamps. I feel that this stamp would be 25-30% of catalog value.

Ditto on Russ' welcome to SCF. If you haven't done so already, you might want to confirm the watermark and perf measurement to make sure that the stamp is correctly identified as #422.

Now I just have to figure out how to see the watermark to be sure.

Im sure I will have plenty more questions.........
