Sorting Through K's Accumulation...

OK, I've resolved to clear up my study room of stamp clutter as I keep knocking over stamp boxes and stepping on glassines. I've resolved to complete the task within 7 years!

Since I haven't lost my scanner power adapter, yet, I've decided to scan some of the somewhat interesting or uncommon items that I run across as I clear out the glassines/boxes. Some of these items I acquired many many years ago, and never got around to sorting and putting them into my collection. I usually keep my collection to myself, but this is the only place where I feel comfortable showing items without fear of boring someone or fear of criticism for being a show-off. So here it goes...

My first grab turns out to be a good one that I got only within the past 2 years -- glassines of oddball items.

Below is Bhutan #1429(2008) at $3.50, commemorating the centenary of the monarchy. All IDs and catalog values are from 2011 Scott catalogs unless otherwise noted.


That's not the oddball item. The rest of the set consists of 2 CD stamps! Yeah, that's CD as in compact disc. Bhutan #1430-1431(2008) at $22. I'd really like to see a genuine postal use cover (not FDC or other philatelic contrivance)!

There can't be many of the CD issues (or the older records) that are used, and not philatelic.

I've been tempted to superglue the power adapter to the scanner. But I'm afraid if I unplug the power adapter to do that, I might lose it again... Besides, I can't find where I put the superglue.

Bhutan stamps attracts me strangely. I like their 3D stamps too.

Speaking of power adapters, I haven't been able to find my radio power adapter for months and months and finally bought a universal one to replace it. Then just last week I found it, right on the top of a shelf in plain sight with a paper about stamps on top of it.

I think they all went on holiday with those traveling garden gnomes or got recalled to the mother ship at the same time or something.

Baseball card stamps from Guyana. Promoted by the infamous Alan Feinstein. He did many things, but he will forever be remembered for shamelessly peddling the Sierra Leone Face on Mars souvenir sheets.

Most people don't realize he also promoted other stamps.

Guyana #2913(6Feb1995) at $70, still in sealed box. I assume there are baseball cards in there, and not football/basketball cards!

St. Vincent #1693-1704(5Aug1992) at $36. There are supposed to be 12 card stamps inside, just like with the Babe Ruth set above.

I have been here since early 2010 and close to 3000 posts since then, and K has always been looking for his scanner power supply.

It is good to see he knows how to scan!
