Frankly, I never knew that one could even send an unwrapped pumpkin through the US Mail, but apparently it can be done under certain conditions. Also, the need to use $28 worth of stamps is certainly beneficial to the post office. However, as stated by the USPS within the article:

Neat. It is also common to mail coconuts from Hawaii, especially ones painted back home. I've always wanted to receive a coconut in the mail.

What mail ? I grew up in the country..the farmers expected to lose a pumpkin or a bushel of apples from us locals ..you can only tempt people so much !!
