Greetings From West Michigan

I was lucky enough to get a big box of stamps from my Uncle who was clearing out his attic. Apparently he bought them at an action, from a stamp dealer who passed away. The collection is neat because it has a ton of stamps from all over the world from mainly the early 1950 so some countries are either nonexistent (Rhodesia) or named differently now (Jugoslavia) and it is also testing my knowledge of basic geography (Reunion is a country?)

It also has a lot of American stamps from 1879-1951, which is cool to me because I am a great lover of American Revolutionary War history.

The less cool side is that there a ton of copies of each stamp, and I have no idea what to do with them. They are all used and in good condition, but worth only pennies and not worth the time of listing and selling each one. Any advice on how to store these duplicates? My brother who collects baseball cards insists that I keep them for trades, but I'm not entirely certain how to go about that.

Anyway, it seems like you guys and girls know your stuff, so I'd figure I'd introduce myself and ask.

Yup, Reunion is a country. It's a French island with a population of about 800,000 located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar, about 200 kilometres (120 mi) south west of Mauritius, the nearest island.

I'll make a suggestion on your duplicates...perhaps gather lots together based on dates of issue or themes and sell/trade them as a small group.

Are there any good cancels on the stamps in question? Those are colelctible also.

Or do any of the stamps have varieties or errors or oddities or freaks etc etc? More collectiblity there.

If they are of flowers or something people like to do scrap-booking with, they can be sold that way, or by themes or topics like animals or sports or history or something.

Or traded, once you get your 50 posts in here.

Just remember, every stamp is a different stamp. To someone.
