Stamp And Penny Collectors 1955 Coincidence?

I thought that those of you who collect both stamps and pennies might find this interesting. My hubby thinks I am nuts, but I think it is pretty cool

The postmark made me think of the 1955 doubled die penny. However, if I recall correctly, the penny was released in error as a result of Hurricane Diane (my name...another coincidence?) in August of 1955, and this postmark was stamped one month earlier. Nonetheless, this postmark is a bit eeirie...double stamped, July 18, 1955 at 5 p.m.

Nice coincidence.
That's one of the few U.S. cents that I don't have.

I don't collect errors but I'm very familiar with the 1955 DDO! That is really something! Neat.

there has to be some collector somewhere who would pay big bucks for his collection to display it with the 1955 DDO, don't you think? Wish I could find him/her...(I'm just sayin') :)

Well it wouldn't be me! lol I own a 1955 "poor mans" DDO but not the coveted actual DDO.
