I beg to differ -- it works
EXACTLY that way. If you're using the quick reply box at the bottom of a thread, you have to type your own codes. If you hit "Reply to Topic" to get the full editing box, you can use the formatting buttons.
By the way, just make sure there are no spaces inside the [ quote ] [ /quote ] tags. They only have spaces here for demonstration purposes
