Cinderellas are fun,
providing one treats them as such,
If you dont get caught up in the hype
and pay big dollars for them, they are a welcome
hiatus from other collecting.

I employ a low limit on any cinderella purchase.

They are an enigma, very rarely are the left unsold
at auctions I attend.
A lot of collectors seem to like the "lucky dip" effect.

I have been trying to add to my British Philatelic Labels and sheets collection but it is almost impossible these days.
Even items catalogued at £1 are going for £7 or £8. I just don't even get to bid.
Cinderella prices have jumped up [as has been discussed before] and there is no reversal in sight.
Also the range of prices for the same item in different auctions is quite incredible. The Eaton's Fine Letter Papers set springs to mind. One can buy it $10 or $50 !

Perhaps the traditional avenues of purchase are changing Mike
ebay and the like.
I still find local club auctions sell material very cheaply,
a lot of collectors have asked me what Cinderellas are,
after I have won bids.
This shows how valuable places like SCF are for broadcasting
all facets of collecting.

I also get the odd collector say something like,
"you collect cinderellas" ? with wide eyes,
"If I had known that, I would have brought my material along"
which suggests there are people who think this material
does not sell at auction, or at least has no appeal.
