What a great topic! Thanks for thinking of this scotzm!

I just heard recently that the sub offices located in drug stores (Shoppers Drug Mart) here in Canada, are not actually owned by the post office, but are sub-contracted out to a private company. Anyone know if that's true?
True. They are owned by the Drug Store of whatever the business is. The employees that work in those Post Offices are employees of the drug store and paid by them but wear
Canada Post uniforms.
Quote:So, maybe
Canada Post has a contract to have sub offices in drug stores in the different small towns here in Canada?
They are also in major cities across the country, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Halifax, etc. In Halifax here, there are two corporate Post Offices (employees are
Canada Post employees) and 10+ (not sure) associate post offices in Lawtons and Shoppers. Across the harbour in Dartmouth the same story.
I'll have to borrow my brother's camera

and go a photoing as the outside pics look like drug stores and the post office itself is inside in a back corner usually.
I think everyone just calls them post offices and doesn't differentiate between corporate or associate. They are all the same to us consumers and from what I can see the employees are probably told to present themselves as if they are representing
Canada Post. So to those not in the know it looks like the post office is just saving rent for a big building or something.
