For lack of higher pursuits in life I like to cruise the internet for stamps...i look for odd Argentina stamps and covers..then I move on to world wide collections and lots, then to topicals and cinderellas and lastly U.S. precancels...hoping to find something that catches my eye with what I consider a reasonable SHIPPING FEE !

I too cruise the virtual highway and always on the lookout for a deal. I have the luxury, these days anyway, of being able to go over hundreds and hundreds of pages to find that one that I need or just want and compare prices and such and since winter is here I'm as not pressed for time like I am in the spring (planting time. I am always impressed with the stuff you come up Phil! Good luck in your future endeavors! -Jay

I use to do that but I have such an accumulation now that I am spending most of my time sorting and hinging. Most of my new acquisitions come from this forum, a few trading partners and my stamp club now.

My soft spot is to buy circa 100 year old stamp albums
at bourses, of course the highly valued stamps have been pecked
but there are bundles of others left to give the package a real
lucky dip feel, lots of perfins are left presumably
as they are only now being appreciated.

With the advent of SCF and thread topics like the Austrian Pmks
and member CJD highlighting other postmark gems, "socked on nose"
"GB printed matter" stamps etc etc, has increased
my interest in markings which brings into focus so many other, otherwise
unwanted stamps.

I do that too Phil....often.
But lately it's become frustrating with many ebay sellers not wanting to send to Israel and not much of what I want on Delcampe or Wensy.
So I popped over to Bidstart just now and was in shock at the Cinderella prices....I left sharpish. Some sellers wanted $65 for items I recently sold on SCF for $5 !

The moral of this sordid little tale is....shop at the forum !
