Twas The Night Before Chicagopex...

... and all through the hotel, not a creature was stirring... but for the dealers staying up late working up last minute stock.

Or at least that's what we collectors like to think they're doing.

I got here at about noon today. It's a bit brisk, but sunny and clear. Nice weather.

The show doesn't even start until tomorrow, yet I've already spent a bundle, meeting with a collecor and buying a 700+ piece revenue cancel collection and a pair of revenue documents with bisects.

I've chatted with several dealers before/after they were setting up and have a bunch of material to look at first thing when the show opens up at 10am.

Any other board members in attendance?

If I had been able to get sufficient material, I would have had an exhibition there, and would have gone there myself. Maybe next year.

Well, I'm home again. I cut the trip short once the budget ran dry. I had originally planned to stay all 3 days, but I didn't want to put the credit card any more in traction than I already had.

I've got piles and piles of new revenue material. Only one stamp is a major hole-filler... well, actually an upgrade, a very nice R31c. All the rest of the material is cancel/variety related. It will probably take me several weeks to image it all, let alone the two revenue lots and the collection I bought.

I really... REALLY... need to win the lottery.

We just got back from Chicagopex, too.

My eight year old son was with me and he had a blast.
It was our first time going and the biggest show we've been to yet. We arrived at 10 and left when they closed. There was just not enough time to get to everything. I really wanted to see the auction and we never even made it to the exhibit room. If it wasn't a 2 1/2 hour drive, I'd go back tomorrow!

Revenue, we surely must have passed each other at some point today and never even knew it!
