So I am terrible at identifying grills, but the US Specialty Precision Multi-Gauge does help. Looks like it matches up to the Z grill grid on the gauge, though hard to tell with faint grill. The stamp was barely hanging on to the cover when I recieved. I would appreciate any thoughts.

It looks to me like an E grill (14 X 17 points), making the stamp Scott 88. But like you said, it is faint and difficult to tell from the image you've provided. The ridges also appear to be vertical, which would rule out the Z grill.

Jcstamp!
Try taking some graphite and lightly smudge some across the grill. It will make it pop out and be much easier to see. After, if you do not like the smudge you can lightly eraser it off.
