My name is Kristin and I am new to SCF. I recently stumbled upon this site and have been impressed with the friendliness and the extensive knowledge base of the members. I started collecting as a child (MNH US stamps), stopped for a while and picked up the hobby again in 2005. I still have my MNH collection that was started long ago and I have slowly been adding more expensive items. One of my favorite acquisions was the last three stamps from the Prexies. I have always thought those stamps were kind of neat, even as a child. When I got back into stamp collecting in 2005, I became truly obsessed and started going after world wide items. To this day, I continue to be a world wide collector, plus maintaining my MNH US collection. I have tried to specialize, but have always found myself going back to my world wide collection because I love the variety. I have some favorite countries that I have spent more time on including, Germany, Scandinavia, Japan and Australia.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you on SCF and talking about our obsession with stamps!

Welcome -- my experiences parallel yours. I tried to collect U.S. as a child, but that didn't work very well. So I quit and returned to the hobby as an adult. A lot of us have done that.
I don't collect worldwide though. Still do U.S., U.N., and Canada.
We look forward to learning more about your collection -- and hopefully seeing some scans of your stamps.

Thanks for all the warm welcome! I am out of town right now for the holidays, so I am away from my collection. When I return home, I would love to show off my collection to people who would enjoy it. |

Welcome Kristin!
Glad to have another new member join the ranks. This is such a good group here. You'll enjoy being a part of it. And you'll learn a lot too. My collection is mainly USA and World WIde Airmails, but from trades and giveaways, and lot purchases, etc, I do have some world wide. Though I don't collect world wide, I do appreciate their beauty.
Forgot tomention, I have a brother in law that lives in Mobile.
Kind Regards,
Dave N. <>< |
