As some of you may or may not know, most of my collection I inherited from my Grandmother. Unlike some, I got some very nice items in the collection but I knew there was more to it than we found digging through the attic. This week end while spending the Holiday with my Mother in Chicago where I volunteered to help throw out some piles of old junk from her basement. while going through a cabinet I came across Hundreds and Hundreds of covers, Post cards, postal cards and some other interesting items. I threw them in a garbage bag and brought them home. All in all there is about 8 pounds of stuff and it's literally crammed into parcel packaging. I doubt there is anything Earth shattering but I've already found some nice pieces. here is what I'm about to sort through.

This is just the tip of the proverbial Iceberg.

You lucky guy.

Even if there isn't anything of real value there, you're
still going to get many hours of enjoyment in anticipation.

Not only great find but the fact it is from your grandfathers collection makes every pc that much more enjoyable. Sit back and think what he was thinking back when--- Probably looked at most of those the way we look at a typical stamped envelope we get today.
Nice set of admiral coils by the way.

That is an awesome accumalation. I'd love to dig in and find interesting cancels that relate to my route 66 topical collection, especially from small towns in Illinois. Green with envy.

The registered Hudson's Bay Company with #127 (x2 singles) and #129 strip of 3 is quite uncommon. A pair of 129s on cover is $28 by itself. Unitrade mentions that this price is for non-philatelically used covers with a single pair only. I don't know what the premium is for more than that. If you don't happen to collect Canada, I'd be interested!

Absolutely awesome! I see lots of value (in fun and research if not monetarily). I love covers! Maybe I should change my handle to "cover lover" !!

Found a small book with writing on it.

"Letters from Armed Forces from Europe, 1918.
Inside are covers sent from WW1 US troops to the US from Europe, unfortunately they are not in very good condition and most are tattered and shredded. There are a couple that are presentable.

A good Base censor stamp on this one.

This one is only the front of a cover but I certainly wish I had this one in top condition.
