I don't collect GB but all the Half pennies scattered in my old albums are green. Is there an explanation, please.

Color changling resulting in loss of the green. This also happened to part of the print run for the 1/2d blue-green Queen Victoria stamp of 1900.

Hi Finches,
khj's comment is confirmed by a footnote in the 2002 Collect British Stamps, it says
The 1/2penny no 213 is a colour changeling.
Regards.

Khj and Horamkhet, thank you for the info.

Is there an explanation on HOW this 'changeling' occurs to these stamps?

Some info on Wikipedia
Mainly as a result of some form of chemical reaction such as bleaching or oxidisation.
