Well Philby told us Belgium does not cancel... well neither does Ireland, Canada or England as shown. These are from the past month. Not shown are uncancelled stamps from the U.S and Australia.

However, I got this yesterday, Tuvalu DOES cancel!

Love those Canada Maple Leaf stamps.

Nice Tuvalu stamps. And cancels.

I now have a strange hankering to go search for Tuvalu on ebay. perhaps you could mention to them that they would increase certain collector's interest by using a hexagon cancel of some sort (see Spain, France, Portugal) for their airmail or better yet, special delivery or priority post mail.

Is there any sea mail out of Tuvalu now or is it all air mail?

What is their web site? I know it's on here somewhere but I am a lazy shopper tonight.

Puzzler, there is air mail and sea mail out of Tuvalu, but sea mail is rarely used except maybe for non-philatelic parcels.

The websites are:

Thanks Bee See!

Does Tuvalu have honey bees? and if they do, are there any stamps with bees on them? Or special cancels? I couldn't find any.

Great topical for hexagon stamps, see Romania 2011, Switzerland 2011, Pitcairn Islands 1999. See Poland for nice hex bee cancels. Maybe they are on some of the flower stamps? Who's running the show here anyway? Me or them? Them I think!

Ah, I found some bees. The 1991 Insects issue may be a bee or a hornet? and the very nice 12 stamp 2001 insects issue has a stamp with honey bees on it. Excellent. But no hexagons.

Here is the 90c Honey bee. The 1991 insects don't have a bee stamp.

I am sure I have extras, I will check when I get home.

No worries Bee See, I was off on a hexagon rant. Some bee stamps worldwide show honeycomb or use the hexagon as a border or stamp or cancel shape. I had never noticed Tuvalu having any before and so just wondered.

I just looked at your GB stamps again and they are probably the high values in the set too. Wow. You would think there would be some Star Fleet directive to make sure that the high valued stamps were cancelled or markered or something.

I mean, twenty or 100 years from now someone could say, well that cover was just made wasn't it? Where is the proof of usage?

It is really irritating not getting cancels - the Irish S/S was especially disappointing, that is the SECOND time I received the same sheet uncancelled

Non-stamp-collectors don't see the world the same way as stamp collectors.

I have gone into a Post Office new to me and as soon as I start talking to a clerk their eyes open wide and they say you're a Stamp Collector aren't you? and they tense up a bit and Watch me as if I am going to pounce upon them and demand perfect stamps and cancels and nothing they could do will be of any help, and let me tell you, I am a nice guy, really I am.

Quite the feeling I tell you.

Perhaps to a non-stamp-collector (an NSC) the souvenir sheet looks so nice right now without a cancel and they think an ugly old black cancel will ruin how nice it looks, not getting the way things really are.

The trials and tribulations of the everyday stamp collector.

Oh, woe is us!
