In a separate thread on "Stamps Without a Country (Name)", it prompted me to look at my Scott #1249's and found this one contained a perfin with the initials "P&L" with a dot below the "&".

Can anyone identify the company or organization who would have used this perfin?

You have perfin pattern P255, Pratt & Lambert Incorporated, Long Island City, NY. Rarity factor is D+. It was in use for quite a long time, from 1926 to 1964.

Thanks. Apparently the above example would have been one the last usages (1964).
