This postmark which includes Scottish Gaelic wording got me wondering if any USA/Canada Native American languages postmarks have been done. Some really nice stamps of Native American art, dances etc have been issued but can anyone show a postmark. Scottish Gaelic language stamps are rare except for the odd word. I realize that a language cannot be saved by singing a few songs or having a word printed on a postage stamp but there are 60,000 Scottish Gaelic speakers in Scotland... probably quite a few in Canada too. Native Americans must be at least five times that number and there must be a great many languages used. So... Native American language postmarks, caches or slogans?

Failte gu mo cainnt. Is I dh'ionnsaich mi 'nam paisde.
Welcome to my language...the one I learned as a child.

USPO handles postage on all resevations and will print postmarks only in English.
However, about 4 nations do operate local posts, it may be possible that they will use their native language in cancelations.
