Taken from the USPS Blog. It seems January is going to be an awfully busy month in issuing new stamps at the post office!

Now we can confirm January 19 as the issue date for the 85c Glacier National Park stamp.

This makes a total of 10 new US stamps to be issued in less than a month's time. Must be some sort of record!

[edit] Make it 11 new US stamps to be issued in January 2012. USPS has just announced John H. Johnson stamp will be issued 01/31/2012:

Now the list has just expaneded to A FULL DOZEN ISSUES (12 separate stamp issues) for January 2012, with the USPS having just announced that the Bonsai stamps will be issued on January 23, 2012:

This is really going to hurt the USPS, as there are some collectors that will simply ignore collecting these new issues when so many stamps come out in such a short period of time.

I like the look of a lot of these stamps, too. It's just the vast quantity of issues coming out in January that is incredible. Of course, collectors are free to purchase or not purchase stamps as they please, but for someone interested in collecting at least one face different example of every issue, I figure we're already around the $44.00 mark to purchase one face different stamp of each January 2012 issue ... and that doesn't even figure the "minimum" purchase requirement if buying some of the coils, etc.

The USPS has a service they call the standing order subscription program. They mail you new stuff as it comes out and charge your credit card. According to the rep I spoke with, the SOSP will sell you just one stamp of each issue, if that's how you subscribe. Might be a cheaper option.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to look into it.

As far as January 2012 issues are concerned, this one was just posted this evening on USPS Facebook for the $1.05 Lancaster County, PA Stamp:

That is in addition to this "updated" list I gathered together this AM:

I'm sure there's more to come, too!
