I am 64 years old and have been collecting stamps since I was 15 years old. I started with a collection of many US and foreign, mostly used stamps, given to me by my dad. After a while, I found that I was attracted to the aesthetically pleasing appearance of mint stamps and restricted my collecting to mint US stamps only. I tend to pursue collecting in spurts with periods of inactivity between the spurts. I would probably be classified as a "space filler" inasmuch as I enjoy acquiring any new stamp even if its value is no more than face. At this time I get most stamps through ebay and have not had any negative experiences yet. I look forward to learning a lot from all of you in the forum.
