Good morning and Happy New Year from the Pacific Northwest! You can blame member AGST (my hubby) for my being here. His excitement over picking up collecting again is rubbing off, and I'm afraid I won't be able to resist! One of our earliest connections was that we both 'used to collect stamps.' Now that he's at it again, I think I need to keep up!
I started collecting in the mid-80's, when I lived in Canada and had 120 penpals all over the world. I just couldn't bear to throw away all the beautiful stamps, and started saving them. Of course, it grew from there to calling myself a 'collector' and having subscriptions with both
CanadaPost and USPS, and buying stamps whenever I could. When I moved back to the US, life was full of many other adventures (like meeting a certain British Sailor), and with the advent of email there are no more snailmail penpals, so I lost focus and the collection has never been unpacked.
I'm still interested in any stamps (except sports), I'll be looking for musical instruments (I play rock-n-blues drums) and authors/writing (I'm a writer, and see in my future a novel involving stamps!), along with wildlife/animals/nature, artworks, and really, anything pretty.

Looking forward to getting acquainted, learning lots, and reclaiming my 'stamp collector' status!
