OK so I recently started collecting again......from scratch. Made a few purchases on ebay and I think I may be addicted.....

Bought these a few days ago for less than $7 with shipping Did I get my money's worth. With my limited knowledge and experience I think I see...

#328 - funky top right corner
#329 - not well centered
#231 - looks OK to me
#648 - not well centered
#549 - little off center
#C7 - lower left corner tooth missing

What do you think?

Looks like you did great!

Shtick em in your album and enjoy.

Glad you started collecting again, and as Brian said, ebay can be a black hole of no return.

well, not to be a debbie downer, but all but two of those can be had for about 50-75% of face value.

the last one on the bottom right is in bad shape, not worth much of anything.

Could the condition of those with creases be improved with a little ironing action avec steam to help flatten them?

skilo.. no.. never steam a stamp ever...

the crease can be lessened by pull it back and forth over a table edge, like you would a dollar bill (well in your case a $5 bill) (ie looney and twooney)

Looks like a nice assortment to me.

I'd say maybe $1 in face value, so to say you could purchase the same lot for .50-.75... I'm doubtful. The top two row of commemoratives, maybe - but for the lot as a whole, I would say you paid a good price.

I can almost guarantee you that you will find them cheaper later on. But these look pretty nice, and now their yours. Enjoy.
Looks like a pretty good deal to me, and they look like nice examples. Don't second guess yourself.
Now...if you'd spent $70!

Nice assortment - If they make you happy is all that matters. What's $7.00 a couple cups of coffee?

Welcome back to stamps - I've only been back since October or so

AGST.. you can find those recent stamps everywhere. I use those kind of stamps for postage now.
Panda... I was talking about 50 to 75% of face, but of course buying a .02 cent stamp costs more than .02.

For $7.00 he didn't hurt himself. But I'm sure people here have a lot of stamps they would sell for face plus postage, that are modern era.
I just see so many like this that I scorn them without thinking that others who don't have them would enjoy them. my bad.
