And some more acquisitions from tonight's stamp club meeting.
US SC#145. Centering could be better, but I like the cancel.

And a very nice (I think) #273. The centering is very good. There is a faint cancel just to the left of Mr Webster's face. Other wise it could be mistaken for unused (there is no gum).

Curious. Does anyone have a current catalogue value for these two?
Thanks.

The 145 is actually a 206. A 145 would at least lack the secret mark in the largest pearl left of the big "1".

Well that's a bummer.
I didn't have a 206, so there is a place for it in the album, but it also means I over paid at the table. Should of had a clue. The 273 was also misidentified as a 226. Rookie mistake considering the obvious differences there.
Ah well, live and learn.
I've noticed a couple of the members of my club that I've dealt with, nice people as they are, have a little trouble with stamp ID.
Thanks guys.

James, I know that if I were a member of your club and had innocently misidentified a stamp, I would have no qualms about making it up in return, trade or some other way. Maybe just asking could help make the transaction a little more palatable. Just a thought.
