Hi everybody on the forum. This is my first post here. Looks it's a nice place. I collect some European stamps I like (UK, Scandinavian, German).

Thank you, tomd and oldtriguy1960, for the welcoming messages. My collection is not too big, nor is it well organized, but it is in the process of improving.

I completely understand, My collection is about 25% United States, 25% Russia, 50% the rest of the world. I am not totally unorganized, but not too far from it. I have been trying to get it organized every chance I get. I had bough some stamps from ebay so I have between 1,000 to 2,000 stamps. I only have it 3/4 separated in countries so far. I am only in the A's so far but when I get to UK, Scandinavian, and German I will see what I can send you. Tom |

Thank you, jhlovell. I have already learnt a bit about British triangular cancellations on stamps through a link given by 741opamp as an answer to my question about it. |

to tomd Sorry, a little late replying to remark about your collection. Being from Russia, I am certainly curious of how your collection is in fact 25% Russian. Any special interest in any particular period or field? |

Hi CollGStamps
A hearty WELCOME from me also. I know you will enjoy being here and we enjoy having a member from Russia.
How is stamp collecting doing in your country?
Is it diminishing like in many Western countries or do you have new growth? |

Thank you for the welcoming note. Stamp collecting in Russia is going down, yet the stamps themselves are now more interesting to collect as the issues are all small, mostly in souvenir sheets, and there are occasional varieties. |

Welcome CollGStamp It's great to have you here. Before I go on, you don't have to apologize for not answering right away. With time difference and other commitments people have it is sometimes a few days before we can answer a post. Now, It's great to have someone here from Russia, our family is a better place with diversity. When I first started out here my collection was very small and very disorganized. Three years later I have 48 Albums and 36 stockbooks. I have not spent a fortune as I have printed my own albums and done a lot of trading and buying from people here on the forum. I have about 4,000 Russian stamps but they are not catalogued and mounted in an album yet. Enjoy your stay with us. Dianne |

Hi Dianne Earl, Thank you for the most colourful welcome I have had here so far. I am amazed at the size of your Russian collection, which is over half of all the Russian catalogue (varieties excluded). That is very impressive. Are there any particular periods? Does it include post-Soviet Russia? If interested, here is a link to official Russian postal catalogue http://www.rusmarka.ru/en/catalog/marka.aspx |
