Scott #R682 $100 1954 carmine Documentary revenue stamp with a portrait of Philip Francis Thomas, the 23rd Secretary of the US Treasury.
This stamp from my collection was canceled by CAS Co., Inc. on Sept. 24, 1954.

The 1940 series of documentary stamps were overprinted each year until 1958 and are known as the "Reds."
The stock transfer stamps of 1940 have similar designs, were overprinted each year until 1952, and are known as the "Greens."
