I have this FDC (Jan 29 1942)with 1/2d and 1d stamps on the same envelope. I inherited this as part of my wife's grandad stamp collection from England. The envelope has a souvenir sticker applied to it (mentioning the German Occupation 1940-1945)obviously a few years after the postmark. I'm interested to learn more about it. Any comments?
Cheers!

The 1/2d 1st day of issue was Jan. 29, 1942, the 1d 1st day of issue was April 1, 1941.
The Catche label affixed to the cover was done after the fact or the Germans were psychic!
See if you can do some research on the name J. Graut. See if he was a reliable person.
I see it as manfactured at least.

I wonder why the sender placed a 1d stamp on the cover.
